Six Practices to become your truest version of epic
An Autumn Season Alignment Guide
Every season brings with it energy to work with. Being conscious of the seasonal descent, the energetic attitude of going down and in, supports our inner alignment. We match nature and that is always a good thing ;-)
This is the time of slowing down, dreaming, and connecting to the darkness. We become more still and senstive to the subtle vibrations....
Meaning.... we can finally breathe easier... or not. How is your breath and lungs? Autumn is the time of the Metal element, the lungs and large intestine... where we learn how to give and receive (inhale and exhale) in an infinite loop of reciprocity, while also learning how to let go (large intestine) into this great eternal flux of universal inhale and exhale.
It’s the time of year to allow the fierce + loving protector Bear of the West to wrap us up in hibertation mode... dreaming the dreams, restoring our physiology by resting, relaxing, and sleeping, making friends with the darkness within....so many themes of fall:
Running towards the monsters: facing our fears and inner darkness. Tip: begin by CONSCIOUSLY doing the small but hard things that bring you anxiety, while getting very intimate with the bodily sensations of the anxiety. Being there for it, like it’s a scared baby within you....
Asking what’s real: dreaming shows us what’s unconscious that is impacting our life. Dreams guide us and give us hints. Tip: ask for dreams that show you guidance around certain issues in your life. You will know when you recieve it - keep asking, every night until you get it. Then do dreamworking with it.
Everday mysticism: connecting with ancestors - healing ancestral/epigenetic trauma while resourcing with the strength and love of those who stand behind us. Tip: Light a candle or incense everyday as an offering of gratitude and kinship with your ancestors. Have clear boundaries that you are only willing to be in communion with the “bright and well” ancestors that have strength and love to offer you.
Breath: giving and receiving and letting go; it’s also the time of year to build our inner fire. Tip: yoga, qigong, and breathwork are all wonderful breath-full practices at this time of year (and always). Try “breath of fire” from the lineage of Pranayama and get into a yoga or qigong rhythm of practice.
Building immunity and inner warmth. Tip: self care practices like moxa, infrared sauna, drinking/eating ginger, and staying connected to loved ones with laughter, play, and communing!
Death and destiny as allies in becoming our truest version of epic😊; learning how to grieve well is akin to learning how to love well. Tip: write, do ritual, watch sad movies, go to grief rituals, read books about grief like THE WILD EDGE OF SORROW BY FRANCIS WELLER OR THE SMELL OF RAIN ON DUST BY MARTIN PRECHTEL. Grief and letting go make more room for destiny and truth embodied.
Feeling like your life isn’t slowing down anytime soon? Or maybe you had the thought, “that’s for other people who have less demanding lives”. The truth is that we all have the power of creation within us - the power to change and create our life.
--> But sometimes it’s not about change, it’s about transmutation.
Some of the programs and patterns that rule our life and that make us feel powerless to change are because they were developed below the conscious mind - during development, either in utero, during pre-cognitive years of development, or are epigenetic/ancestral in origin (usually all of the above.)
Transmutation might be what you need if you have tried EVERYTHING or seemingly so, and feel like you will be stuck forever in whatever experience you are having....
And that’s how I support my clients (and my deepest passion). The inner work of making the unconscious conscious is about this transmutation - more than just allievation of symptoms, but using the symptoms as guideposts into our personal, collective, and spiritual evolution.
May you feel aligned by the small self-care and soul-care ideas in this letter, and feel inspired to your highest life.
With gratitude,
Cadie
