Visioning an authentic life gets easier when we stop lying to ourselves

How the 8 lies of Iktome distort our reality and when we address these illusions, we can create our life dream with soul-level authenticity

The Lakota as well as Southwestern and Western Native American groups have a character or being called Iktome who is a trickster and sometimes a liar. (Billy Mills writes of the 8 lies of Iktome in his book, Wokini.)

Even over the centuries, it seems the human mind and our humanity doesn’t change all that much. It’s probably something the majority of us can actually agree upon - that we are seeking happiness. And we all do so in our own ways.

Perhaps what has changed is that we live in a capitalist and money-driven, superficially inclined culture and this deeply influences our psyche. It feels to me like these illusions are particularly relevant. Lately, I have been guided to redirect my visioning within this context of the 8 lies. How have they been influencing the micro-movements of how I vision/create my life? How have they influenced what I am dreaming into and how can I use these delusions as doorways to the deeper desires? How can I reframe these to create a more soul-satiating experience?
